Pallet is a standard-sized platform of box section open at two ends on which goods may be stacked. The open ends allow the entry of the forks of a lifting truck so that the palletized load can be raised and moved about easily.

CERTIFIED EUROPALLET (EUR-pallet)

Size: 800x1200x145mm.
Top part of the Europallet consists of five stringer boards: widest (145mm), narrowest (100mm).
Lower part consists of only three boards (narrow, wide, narrow) with facets.

In Europe, the EURO pallet, also called a CEN pallet, is widely used in many industries. It measures 800 by 1200 by 144 mm.
The four common sizes of EURO pallets are:

CETIFIED FIN-PALLET

Size: 1000x1200x145mm.
Top part of the FIN Pallet consists of seven stringer boards: widest (120mm), two narrow once (100mm), wide, two narrow and wide.
Lower part consists of three stringer boards (narrow, wide, narrow) with facets.

AMERICAN STANDRARD PALLET - 1200 x 1200

CARGO MULTIPLE USE PALLET 800 x 1200mm

Size: 800 x 1200 x 145mm, width of the board 20-22mm. It has no logo on it but the construction is identical to the one of EURîPallet.

CARGO MULTIBLE USE PALLET 1000 x 1200mm

Size: 1000 x 1200 x 145mm, width of the board is 20-22mm. It has no logo on it but the construction is identical to the one of EUR Pallet.

EURO BOX (EUR – box)

Size: 800 x 1200 x 800mm. Metal cage with Euro Pallet Base, size plate has an oval EUR pressed sign on it.

If you are using pallets from the manufacturers with strict conditions of usage, than you will need certified European and Finish Pallets. They are made in strict accordance with accepted Governmental European Criteria. Signs and stamps on these pallets confirm it. For your information these pallets are divided into three categories:

• HIGH QUALITY
  • almost new, white and strong pallets;
  • they have no cracks or chopped off bits;
  • they were used no more than three times before.
• FIRST QUALITY
  • white, strong pallets;
  • they have no cracks or chopped off bits;
  • they have not been repaired yet.
• SECOND QUALITY
  • they can be dirty and the wood has obtained a darker quality over time of use;
  • they can have little cracks and bits chopped of ( no more than 3cm in width and 30cm in length);
  • some of them might have been already repaired.

In this case, any pallets will do – the choice of a specific type depends on conditions of transportation. Except from the EUR and FIN pallets there are other multiple use pallets:

• Non Certified EUR Pallet 800 x 1200 x 145mm
  • size and construction is identical to the certified EUR pallets, including all allowances and facets;
  • used screw nails;
  • width of the board 22mm;
  • difference from the EUR pallet is lack of the original sign on the pallet.
• Pallet 800 x 1200 x 145mm, First Class
  • size and construction is identical to the EUR pallets, but width of the boards can vary;
  • screw nails are used;
  • width of the boards is 20-25mm;
  • facets are taken off at the corners of the pallets;
  • distance between the boards no more than 50mm;
  • it has no substantial color change to the wood.
• PALLETS 800 x 1200 x 145mm, SECOND CLASS
  • size and construction is identical to the EUR Pallets;
  • screw and normal nails can be used;
  • width of the board is 20-25mm;
  • facets are taken off at the corners of the pallets;
  • distance between the boards no more than 50mm;
  • there could be some dirt and change of color of the wood.
• PALLET 800 x 1200 x 145mm. THIRD CLASS
  • main parameters of the pallet with spec of 800 x 1200mm remain, the rest can vary ;
  • with width of the board 15-25mm;
  • facets are taken off at the corners of the pallets;
  • long nails are used;
  • there could be some dirt and change of color of the wood.
• PALLET 1000 x 1200 x 145mm
  • The construction is similar to certified FIN Pallets;
  • facets might be missing;
  • normal long nails can be used instead of crew nails;
  • width of the board 15-25mm.
• SPECIAL TYPES OF PALLETS
  • plastic standard EUR;
  • wooden standard (CP);
  • Triplett;
  • metal EUR- boxes.

USAGE OF PALLETS

• There are two main types of pallets: EUR pallet and standard pallet.
• Size of the Euro pallet is 800mm x x1200mm, while the size of standard pallet is 1000mm x x1200mm.
• 20ft Container can be loaded on 11 EUR pallets or on 9-10 standard pallets only in one row (see the pic)
• 40ft containers can be loaded on 23-24 EUR pallets or 20-21 standard pallets only in one row (see pic).
• Wooden pallets must be strong in order to sustain the weight of 3 rows.
• If loaded carton boxes, please note that the edges of the boxes must not stick out from the edge of the pallet.

TYPES OF PALLETS:
